KYLIE JENNER/90's GRUNGE INSPIRED MAKE UP LOOK

I was heavily  inspired by Kylie Jenner's new 90's-esque look that she's been rocking lately and I've also been really into TAUPE lips. You heard me right. I've combined the two and not to toot my own horn, but I absolutely love this look! And even though it's spring/summer we can all just be vampires and sit inside wearing dark lipstick #amIright #oramIright

Products used for EYES:
NYX Eyeliner Pencil in White
Dainty Doll Concealer in 001 (applied as a base)
Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24h in Black (long ass name, huh)
Maybelline Scandaleyes Mascara & Avon Infinitize Mascara
H&M Nudes Pallete in Soft Nudes.

 Products used for LIPS:
Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo 24hr in Permanent Taupe (as a liner - weird but it works!)
ELF Matte Lip Colour in Tea Rose.

Hope you all enjoy this look as much as I do, If you did please subscribe for more posts!
I'm really loving this trend right now :) thanks for reading!

SWATCHES | MAX FACTOR SMOKY EYE EFFECT EYESHADOW

Good evening to all (if you're in the UK that is) well.. good day in general for everyone incase you're not from the UK *best intro ever*
Sorry I didn't post on Wednesday, I could go on for ages about why but basically Uni, 'nuff said right?
I just wanted to make sure I did something for this week so I thought 'oh my lets provide some revolutionary swatches'
because I am alwaaaaays looking for swatches, and maybe its a product thats not very popular so it's bloody hard to find decent swatches so anyway lets get on with it...

I'll be swatching the Max Factor Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadows in a variety of shades.
Haven't seen much on this product on the internet from my personal research so hopefully if you're interested in these this post will be helpful

The product provides two shades in a dual ended tube in a twist-up-lipstick sort of fashion #AwfulDescriptionAward
They retail for £6.99 at Boots, which I think isn't too bad for 2 eyeshadows I feel like you do get a decent amount of product, and Max Factor is a higher end drugstore brand. The idea is to follow the "step 1" and "step 2" signs on each end to get your smoky eye.
Now, I use these as bases for my eyeshadow as I have oily lids, if you don't have oily lids you could probably get away with using just these as an eyeshadow alone. So please bear that in mind when purchasing. As a base I feel they work great, highly pigmented (in my opinion) also very easy and quick application as you just roll it on your eyelid straight away and you'll only need a brush to blend out.
Onyx smoke I really like, the white and black are both very pigmented which I really appreciate because when I buy a black or white I literally want it as white as friggin angel wings and as black as the pits of hell - ya dig? (not sure why the biblical references were necessary)
The black does have glitter in - as you can probably see with your own two eyes - I personally prefer a matte black but its great for parties and when you just feel like going really dramatic.

Silver storm I think would look great on steel blue eyes or cool toned skin. As with all of the swatches, high pigmentation. The purple/plum looks a little grey in the picture but it's definitely more of a deep plum in real life.

Purple Dust looks like two bronze tones in the picture (don't know what was wrong with my camera today!) however the first colour is a warm toned mauve where the second is pretty true to how it shows in the picture as a dark 'antique' gold. This would really compliment warm toned skin, and brown or hazel eyes.

Hope this post helped! Obviously these are just my suggestions but you can definitely use any duo no matter your undertone or eye colour (a lot of magazines/sites say purple doesn't suit blue eyes but I love wearing it haha)

See you next week xo

BEAUTY BATTLE: E.L.F. ESSENTIAL VS. MINERAL LIPSTICKS & SWATCHES!

My blog has nearly 400 views lol I'm really excited about that I know I'm lame \o/

If you're looking into ELF lipsticks and you're unsure about whether to go for the £5 mineral or the dirt cheap £1.50 Essential lipsticks then thank God you have me to help you out

I have 4 of the Essential lipsticks and 3 of the mineral, and they're basically EXACTLY THE SAME

In my opinion the Mineral lipsticks offer more variety of shades that you won't find in the Essential line, for example 'Natural Nymph' in the Mineral line is a straight up nude but essential does not offer this, Essentials mainly stick to a range of pinks and reds.

When I received one of the Essential lipsticks the bullet was actually broken off, but didn't bother me for £1.50. I prefer the packaging of Mineral lipsticks, very similar appearance to Nars lipsticks, they like to take notes off of Nars quite a lot haha but lets face Nars is like the Regina George of make up.

From left to right: Classy, Seductive, Sociable and Gypsy.

Sociable in real life is more red toned and is extremely sparkly (you can see the glitter in the non-flash image) it feels quite gritty and is very drying, I wouldn't recommend this shade.

Classy and Gypsy are my two favourites, both have an amazing texture, if not better than Mineral, and are long lasting. Gypsy especially lasts for a very long time which you wouldn't expect as it's a dark pink/berry shade. I wore this to Wireless festival which included a lot of drinking and I think I touched up like once lol I highly recommend this one.

From left to right: Natural Nymph, Runway Pink, Nicely Nude.

Natural nymph I really like but will require a base as it really sinks into the fine lines of your lips, I use E.L.F Plump and Prime
What confused me when I bought Runway Pink and Nicely Nude was that Nicely Nude, as you can see, is WAY more pink than Runway Pink lol like what?
You can probably tell in the images that Mineral appears to apply more smoothly and consistantly, but when actually applying on lips I've never noticed a difference.

Overall, if you're very concerned with packaging I recommend Mineral lipsticks, if however you're looking for extremely cheap lipsticks that won't disappoint the Essential lipsticks are brilliant.
