ONE BRAND/FULL FACE FIRST IMPRESSIONS | BENFIT COSMETICS

I wanted to do a one brand based full face first impressions post - bit of a mouthful eh?
I bought some Benefit Cosmetics goodies from feelunique.co.uk - I love this site, they often have discounts/offers on high end brands and they have free shipping over £10!

I bought 2 of their gift sets and the popular eyeshadow kit World Famous Neutrals, so I figured why not try it all out and give you guys a little tutorial + review on their products
What I like about benefit is these little sets let you try a whole bunch of products so that you don't have to throw yourself in the deep end and splurge on something you're not sure you'll like!

Firstly, can we just appreciate the packaging as we scroll through these images! They're like cute little books and you can always take out the make up and tray to use them for storing things in or once you're done stack them as a cute little decoration to your bedroom

The Bronze of Champions - Comes with Watts Up! Highlighter, Crease-less Cream Shadow in Bikini Tini, eyeshadow in Thanks A Latte, Hoola Bronzer, They're Real mascara and Hoola Lipgloss - which smells divine might I add.

How To Look The Best At Everything in Light - Comes with The Porefessional Primer, Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation in "I'm Pure 4 Sure" Ivory, Boi-ing Concealer in 01 and 02, and Hello Flawless! Powder in "I love me" Ivory.

World Famous Neutrals - Easiest Nudes Ever comes with Creaseless Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P and No Pressure! along wish eyeshadows; Call My Bluff, Thanks A Latte, Pinky Swear and Quick, Look Busy.

To create this eye look I used Bikini Tini creaseless cream shadows all over the lid. Then RSVP on the outer third, then No Pressure! along the bottom lid using a pencil brush. Using these cream shadows as a base creates longevity for the shadows.
These cream shadows are the perfect balance of shimmery but not sparkly or glittery, they look great on their own for a natural look as it doesn't leave your eyes looking flat but makes them look much more awake

I then packed the shadow Pinky Swear onto the entire lid, Thanks A Latte on my outer third and along the bottom lid in the same area as the cream shadow using a pencil brush again for precision. I then used Quick, Look Busy in my crease and along the edge of the bottom lid where I applied Thanks A Latte to add dimension and precision. I used Call My Bluff as an inner corner highlight and on the brow bone. For this look I used Real Techniques and ELF brushes.
The eyeshadows have great pigmentation for neutral shades, blend easily and do not go patchy nor are they chalky.

I then used my liquid pen eyeliner by Soap & Glory to create a wing and add the dot adjacent to my tear duct. I then went over the dot and traced along bottom lid up alongside my winged liner with Collection's glitter liner in Funk, then applied Benefit's They're Real! Mascara - I actually have an amazing and cheaper dupe for this mascara which I will post up soon!

For the lips I used ELF's retractable lip liner in Natural, with Essence's matte effect XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss in Soft Nude and applied Hoola Lipgloss ontop for a glossy finish - you guys I cannot get over how good it smells! And it has fine sparkles so it does not feel gritty nor does it look like you're about to work a shift at your local strip club.

For the face (I look a bit moody, oh dear) I used all products in the 'How To Look The Best At Everything' in Light and The Bronze of Champions - in my opinion it's a very natural finish - it does state this on the products however  I just think for this eye look I need something of higher coverage. I love the bronzed glow it gave the bronzer paired with Watts Up! is a match made in Heaven. The concealer provided me with great coverage and although the shade 02 was too dark it makes a great cream concealer!

I hope you enjoyed this one brand tutorial/full face first impressions (almost anyway)/mini haul? Bit of a mix here so this is probably just one big mess haha have a great weekend!

Hayley x

KARDASHIAN BEAUTY TOUCH TONES PALETTE | EYE LOOK & SWATCHES

Hey everyone I received my Kardashian Beauty Touch Tones Palette today (mouthful or what - that's what she said) in the mail, I bought it from FeelUnique.com - if you're not familiar with the site then I highly suggest you check it out because it has FREE SHIPPING omg
Does anyone else feel obligated to purchase something online if the site offers free shipping? #firstworldproblems

Anyway I got this palette for £10.52, it is originally priced at £11.95 but I used the discount code LOVE12 so see if it still works! I purchased the palette in Echo, I believe there are 3 palettes in total.
I'm not sponsored by feelunique I'm not fancy enough yet for all that lol I just really like the site & they often have discounts or sales on higher end products.

So I'll shut up and show you what the palette looks like & swatches & stuff & things

I really like the packaging personally, I love the mix of white and gold, the back of the palette is not so fancy looking but to be honest who cares what the back looks like lol, it's smaller than I expected but the eyeshadows are a decent size.
The only thing that bothers me is that the 'gradient' section in the middle aren't in seperate pans they're just kind of all together which means they could all end up smudging together and that scares me lol
It comes with an applicator which I don't use as I have my own brushes.

I did ONE swipe of each shadow. When I looked up swatches before doing this I think they swiped several times to get very opaque swatches because mine look nothing like theirs just from one go haha
I was expecting more pigmentation and the shadow didn't distribute as well as I expected.

However when I did my make up with this palette the shadows had a much better pay off than when I swatched on my arm (so weird but I've seen before in YouTube videos where the swatches are crap but when applied is much better)

So onto the look I've never done this before so if you have any suggestions on how to improve how I lay this out then feel free to comment or tweet me :) links will be at the bottom. Enjoy!

I then used Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in 01 Intense Black to get my winged liner, and used my white eyeliner from the colortrend line by Avon in my inner corner.

Hope you enjoyed the look & swatches have a great Wednesday and I hope you're wearing pink #onwednesdayswewearpink

REVIEW & SWATCHES: AVON COLORTREND KISS N GO LIPSTICKS

So I have a small collection of the Avon Colortrend Kiss n Go lipsticks, which will probably grow because they're amazing lipsticks. Each swatch I provide is one coat of the lipstick, true story. In my opinion they're extremely good quality, opaque, smooth, moisturing and they're only £3.75, and Avon often have deals on these lipsticks I think they're currently £1.90? Don't quote me on that but anyway they're cheaper than your mum and they're amazingggggg...

I have the lipsticks in Deluxe, Rich Ruby, Passion, Doll Pink and Violet Friday. With the price I dont really care about the packaging lol but since I'm reviewing, it's certainly professional, I like that they have a transparant acrylic section so that you can see the real colour of the lipstick rather than some ratchet mock-up sticker on the bottom of the tube. Also I've had these for a while, taken them on my travels and what-not and none of the bullets have broken, nothing has cracked or smashed. Elf take note.

From left to right: Deluxe, Rich Ruby, Passion, Doll Pink, Violet Friday.

From one swipe of each lipstick: Deluxe, Rich Ruby, Passion, Doll Pink, Violet Friday.

I love that Deluxe is so pigmented its not often you find a dark lipstick on the cheaper side that is truly opaque. Rich Ruby is your staple red lip, it looks brighter in the above image than on the lips, it's certainly wearable. Passion is my favourite out of the bunch its a medium pink with a coral undertone its so pretty :) Doll Pink is another staple bright pink but in my opinion still very wearable, Violet Friday looks scary but when applied is sheer so you can build up the intensity which I like, you could easily turn this from day to night.
I tested out Passion when I went out for a meal, and it lasted through the whole meal, of course its not made of magic so it wasn't as vibrant as when first applied but I could also get away without touching up.
I don't understand why Avon do other lines of lipsticks such as Long Lasting, Colour Riche, etc. and more expensive at like £8 when these lipsticks shit all over the others and are way cheaper, I question the logic lol idk but thanks for reading hope this was helpful x

REVIEW+SWATCH: Dainty Doll Concealer by Nicola Roberts

I PRESENT TO YOU THE ANSWER TO EVERY PALE PERSON'S PRAYERS
Hey everyone,
today I'll be reviewing & providing swatches of the Dainty Doll Concealer from the Dainty Doll cosmetic line created by Nicola Roberts.
I was interested by this line because as a member of the pale folk it can be so difficult to find the perfect shade for your skin when you're whiter than a member of the KKK.

I bought the lightest shade 001 Abracadabra and this colour is literally just slightly off-white. She really catered for the palest of the pale. Admittedly, it was too light for me BUT this makes for a great highlighter which means you can still use this as an under-eye concealer.
Finding a highlighter light enough for pale skin can also be tough so I would highly recommend using this.

I found it to be very pigmented and creamy, and I could easily blend it out to create a highlighted effect. The concealer is oil-based, and used with a water-based foundation I found it lasted 3-4 hours but by the time I came home from Uni (7 and a half hours) it seemed to have vanished. However it's common knowledge that water doesn't mix with oil so this was likely to happen anyway.
The point of this is that her liquid foundation is in-fact water based, which means using Dainty Doll foundation and concealer would not last very long as a combination, which is a shame because the shades are perfect for pale skin.

Swatches:

These swatches are from just one swipe of the concealer, I'm very impressed with the coverage and most of all how light it is! By the way my arms are more tan than my face, I'd say the concealer is 2 shades lighter than my face, you could get away with no contour powder/bronzer for a subtle look.

I hope this blog post helped anyone with any questions concerning Dainty Doll cosmetics, have a great day!
